in the Diocese of Baton Rouge ~ serving Baker and the surrounding area since 1879
Volunteers are needed to help with the many ministries, events, activities, and programs offered at St. Isidore. If you are interested in serving in any of the following areas, please call the church office at (225) 775-8850 for information on how to get involved.
Volunteers Needed for Funeral Food Planning
Each time we have a funeral in the parish, we provide food for the family. This is a meaingful way to show our love and support in their time of grief. Presently we are in need of a few additional volunteers to serve as Bereavement Committee contacts.
As a funeral is being planned, church staff call one of the contacts to begin planning for the food. That person orders the fried chicken and calls other committee members to prepare side dishes. On the day of the funeral, the contact picks up the chicken from Walmart and the other food that has been dropped off at the church office and brings it to the funeral reception. If you are interested in serving in this ministry, please call the office and talk to Jason.
Building & Grounds Committee These volunteers work with the Pastor to review plans and oversee the implementation of all parish building and grounds projects.
Harvester Mailing Every Wednesday morning at 7AM volunteers show up at the St. Theresa Room to place inserts in the bulletins and get them ready to mail. Depending on the number of inserts and the number of volunteers, this usually takes between one and two hours.
Reception Committee These volunteers help plan, set up, decorate, and serve food for parish events.
Special Skills These volunteers work to keep our parish facilities and grounds beautiful and in good working order. We are always looking for skilled individuals with specialties in plumbing, electrical, sound systems, painting, carpentry, and landscaping.
